I seem to have lost my way for a bit. I had painstakingly planned out my finished product before I had even begun. Then, to make matters worse I compared my piece to others work. That is just not a good place to find yourself.
It was when I started to tangle an ensemble recently that I realized how far away from the Zentangle philosophy I had strayed. Away from the breathing, calm, relaxing enjoyment of following a string or not, filling that string with tangles, admiring your finished product, and learning that the outcome dosen't really matter it is the process that counts.
I suppose it is with all things that we have an idea how it should be. I have been reminded once again it is not where you are going, but the journey that you are on that matters. Feels better.
The challenge this week was a "Use My Tangle" which was brought to us by Jane MacKugler, CZT and you can find instructions for the tangle "Whys" on her blog here
This is my tile:
Thanks for stopping by.
Wow, I love the way you have given "whyx" a new texture!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! You have softened the squareness of it and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteWOW, your tile is stunning. I love the way you broke trough the squares.
ReplyDeleteI love your variation
ReplyDeleteDebra, I love this. There's such texture and dimension in your tile. I go through the same thing too, especially after seeing some of the other things people have done. It's always good to be reminded that Zentangle is not about the finished piece, but the tangled road that leads to it that matters. :o) Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteThis is yummy and fanciful!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation of the challenge tangle "Whyz." Your tile is so striking and bold.
ReplyDeleteI do like the way your Whyz seems to be embossed.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your "y's" curl! Neat!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I had to concentrate to actually see the pinwheels. Lovely textures.
ReplyDeleteThis is a complete new view.... Well done!!
ReplyDeleteWow creative variation of Whyz, with the bold lines inside. Great.
ReplyDeleteIn playing with textures and shading, I never thought of curling the white parts. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI just love the puffiness of these Whyz!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun design! I especially like the tentacle like things in a circle playing with little balls.
ReplyDeleteLove how you have used the pattern, here. Terrific :)
