Challenge #128 White on Black

Hmmm.......not my favorite, but I am willing to spend time with it. I have many new supplies I would like to try out so now is as good a time as any.

First tile I find to busy although I realize some of you may like it.

Signo Angelic pen (I thought I had ordered White but got Angleic, not sure if it is the same) White gelly roll for dots (I think it does a better job at dots) blue and peach chalk pastel pencil in Zinger and a light gray pastel pencil for shading in Printemps and Punzel

After scanning it I added black lines over the Angelic signo pen to add a little depth.

This second tile I like better for it's simplicity and and it's foggy ocean feel.

Verve in White Signo, Pearls are white gelly roll and shading is in dk gray chalk pastel pencil.

  2. I like all of these in all their variables. I thought the first one was good. And the second. And then the third one just blew me away.

  7. I love how you used the black pen over the light shading - what a great idea! Your little bit of color really adds to the design so nicely. The second one is so Japanese looking! Really beautiful!

  9. I like the first tile. I think the line work is great and I like the highlighting. I think the Angelic pen has a slightly smaller nib. I prefer it over the regular Uniball pen.

  12. Your white on black tiles turned out beautifully. I honestly don't know which I like best, but I like the black ink on top of the white. It added some depth and interest to it. Your verve tile does look very much like a foggy day on the waves to me. Nicely done!

  13. Nicely done Debra! Punzel is one of my favourites, and looks great done in white on black. I do like the added in black lines for depth. Nice subtle colour too. But, I LOVE your Verve! Great tangle for white on black, and you have done wonderful even lines and subtle shading that give it a subtle rolling wave feeling.
