Challenge #209 Happy St. Patrick's Day

My husband and I have just come off a fabulous weekend in Manhattan! We walked about 10 miles each day and had a fabulous time, the best of which was seeing our son who now lives in Brooklyn.

We drove to NYC on Friday arriving around 11:30. We visited The New Museum (Contemporary art) which had an interactive tour in which we blindly followed an artist onto the Metro and around Brooklyn only to be left standing at a grocery store while she completely vanished inside. Not a word was spoken between her or her followers. We could not figure out if we were the art, she was the art or the city was the art. Anyway it was a experience. That evening we saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime on Broadway (Fabulous!).

On Saturday we were off to Brooklyn to see my son's apartment, which is very cool, had lunch at a taco place that actually serves food as a sideline while making, baking and packaging tacos for distribution. The oven, conveyor belt, and boxes are part of the informal BYOB dining room. We then set out for an off off Broadway show called Comfort Dogs that had real dogs as part of the cast, and the stage was up close and personal. It actually brought me to tears at one point. Needing a laugh we headed back to Manhattan, grabbed some awesome NY Pizza and then to a comedy club! We were headed to bed around 2:00am the next morning. Really a fabulous time! Can't wait to go back.

On to the challenge for this week which is Saint Patrick's Day.  I colored my tile with Tombow makers and used the texture of a stencil. The tangle here is Coroline by Poppie. When I was finished it kind of reminded me of all that fizzy goodness of a really cold (green) beer!

Enjoy your celebration!

  1. Your tile is great. I like this pattern. I tried it but have to admit that yours look much nicer than mine.

  7. I love your tile. It's rather mysterious. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your son...can't wait until mine grows out of the "Hi, Mama, it's me...can you send money please" stage :-)
