So, in the words of Billy Idol, "it's a nice day to start again!"
I've never done this before but, I picked a word for the year. It is a way to state my intention for the coming year. This word, I feel has kept me in a place where I am limiting my happiness and creativity. The word is as big and complicated as the action itself. It is one word and I can say it like a mantra. I will take baby steps at first but, I do hope the steps will become larger and eventually the action will be second nature. The word for 2014: forgive.

After drawing this, I took a look at it and what pops into my head? What goes around, comes around. Maybe a little forgiveness is in store for me too.
I like it. What popped into my head when I saw it was an eyeball/lens, The outer parts are the sections of the aperture.
ReplyDeleteYes, Donald, I see that too!
DeleteThis is quite an intense Zendala, Debra, and as Donald noticed, is a bit like being looked at. Not in a bad way - in fact, it has inspired some self-reflection! I think 'forgive' is a good word to have. I send you lots of positive energy for 2014 and hope you don't mind me saying that I think your honesty in the tragedy you are surviving is incredibly brave. I agree that Zentangle is definitely theraputic.

Thank you Annie.
DeleteJust one word: gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lonetta
ReplyDeleteI, also, immediately thought of an eyeball. It's mesmerizing in a way. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Donald and i also think it's quite intense as Annie says. A greta zendala anyway!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the word for your zendala is awesome! I wish you the best in 2014. Hopefully days filled with lots of blessings.
ReplyDeleteForgiveness is a great word. It never does any good to hold on to the past. Your "eye" is looking forward to a great new year. Very nice tangles. The best to you and yours for the upcoming new year!
ReplyDeleteLove your Zendala Debra, your highlights are stunning, and as others have mentioned, the comparison to an eye is quite introspective. I also love your word of the year - Forgive is such a big word, but a very freeing word! This is my second year doing the word... last year I selected Grace, and there was not a day or situation that I did not think of that word! My word for this year is Reinvent. May the new year bring you great things!
ReplyDeleteI like how you worked the template into a circle around the eye. Happy new year!
